Grape Varieties

Cayuga = This versatile grape can be made into a semisweet wine emphasizing the fruity aromas, or, using oak aging, into a dry less fruity wine. It's excellent cultural characteristics and high wine quality promise an important future for this variety.

Chambourcin= A late-ripening grape that may produce a highly rated red wine when the fruit fully matures.

Frontenac= Extremely winter hardy red grape variety that produces a full bodied wine of high quality. It lends itself to Port-style wines.

Noiret= Produces an excellent full-bodied, richly colored red wine with a distinct green and black pepper character and moderate tannin content. These wines have notes of raspberry, blackberry and mint aroma. It lends itself to a Syrah-style wine.

Traminette= It produces wines of excellent quality, often spicy and resembling Gewürztraminer, with good sugar/acid/PH balance.

Vidal Blanc= A white French-American hybrid, most noted for its success in Canada as an ice wine.
